Lightroom 1.3 PDF Print E-mail

Hello again!

I have some great news! Abode has release the next point release of Photoshop Lightroom [v1.3], and while I just upgraded about an hour ago, I have to say I LIKE IT!

Adobe says that it adds the following:

• Additional camera support for the Canon 1Ds Mark III, Nikon D3, Nikon D300, Olympus E-3, and more [COOL!]
• Updated Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard support [Good for the Mac folks out there]
● The import dialog now offers the option to render 1:1 previews as part of the import process [I've been hoping they'd add this!]
● The export dialog layout has been enhanced [This is an understatement, it's really spiffed up BIG TIME]
● A Lightroom Preview Export SDK is available for developers to create and distribute Export Plug-ins. Further details
are located on Adobe Labs

And that it has the following fixes:

● Writing XMP metadata automatically has been corrected for performance issues [Very noticable improvement in speed!!!]
● Printing with the native resolution option enabled no longer sets the wrong dimension for portrait oriented images
● Prior to Camera Raw 4.3 there was the possibility that artifacts in edge transitions could be introduced through the
Bayer demosaic and luminance noise reductions algorithms. This has been corrected.
● The Canon sRAW format and the Fuji compressed RAF formats are now supported.

Not as many changes in the user interface as last time, however, it is very noticably faster on the windows platform.

Then there are a couple things they didn't mention.

The first really cool thing they added is when dragging images from the filmstrip, or from the grid view it drags a mini thumbnail! SO COOL! And they have also added several new web gallery types that are really super cool, the postcard viewer galler just rocks and sent me slack jawed when I first let it run!
